The foster child by Jenny Blackhurst.

The foster child by Jenny Blackhurst.

When child psychologist Imogen Reid takes on the case of 11-year-old Ellie Atkinson, she refuses to listen to warnings that the girl is dangerous.

Ellie was the only survivor of a fire that killed her family. Imogen is convinced she's just a sad and angry child struggling to cope with her loss.

But Ellie's foster parents and teachers are starting to fear her. When she gets upset, bad things seem to happen. And as Imogen gets closer to Ellie, she may be putting herself in danger...

So to start off I really like how this book gets straight to the

story, from page one you know roughly what is going on and

why! Which I love!

The chapters jump from character to character which to be

honest is a little confusing to start with but you do get used

to it and understand why its done this way when you get a bit

further in and know the characters.
Some parts of the book for me hit hard the bullying the child

went through, I just felt so much for her, going through

bullying myself as a child I could honestly say I felt exactly

how she must have been feeling in the book.

The story really shows how people are so quick to judge

without actually finding out the facts or the truth first, it

really opens your eyes on how this happens on an everyday

basis in life and to be honest were all guilty of judging too

quickly, aren’t we?

As you get nearer to the end of the book there is defiantly

some twists in it, you think you've just found out what is

going on then it all changes, you finally go ah ok I get that

then BAM it changes again and it really does leave you with a

:O ‘Mouth open’ type moment and I have to admit I kinda

loved it!

I really did enjoy this book as I said some parts of the book are intense but most defiantly worth the read! I can not wait to read more of Jenny Blackhurst's work!

I just want to say a quick thank you to Headline for sending me this book to review.

Four uniquely wacky stories,  Tales of Ramion  are great reads for children and are particularly well loved by young boys thanks to the author’s cheeky storytelling and mischievous humour . Shallow Graves bt Patrick Logan - Review.

Shallow Graves b y Patrick Logan. Not all houses are made of brick and stone... Robert Watts is having the worst day of his entire life: first he's laid off, then he finds out that his wife is having an affair... with his boss no less. And that's only the beginning.   Before the month is out, Robert finds himself alone to raise his daughter with no money, no job, and a house that is minutes from being repossessed. Just when he hits rock bottom, a strange visitor arrives at the doorstep of his soon to be foreclosed house with a letter from an Aunt he didn't know existed. The offer is simple: look after Aunt Ruth during her dying days, and in return Robert will be bequeathed the Harlop Estate in which she currently resides. It's a no brainer and Robert jumps at the opportunity, equally motivated by the prospect of financial security as he is for a fresh start.   Problem is, it only takes a few nights in the Harlop Estate before

The killing lessons by Saul Black.

The killing lessons by Saul Black. When the two strangers turn up at Rowena Cooper's isolated Colorado farmhouse, she knows instantly that it's the end of everything. For the two haunted and driven men, on the other hand, it's just another stop on a long and bloody journey. And they still have many miles to go, and victims to sacrifice, before their work is done. For San Francisco homicide detective Valerie Hart, their trail of victims--women abducted, tortured and left with a seemingly random series of objects inside them--has brought her from obsession to the edge of physical and psychological destruction. And she's losing hope of making a breakthrough before that happens. But the murders at the Cooper farmhouse didn't quite go according to plan. There was a survivor, Rowena's ten-year-old daughter Nell, who now holds the key to the killings. Injured, half-frozen, terrified, Nell has only one place to go. And that place could be even more dangerous th
